If you have any questions about open enrolling with the MAPS district, please contact the district office at 715.536.4581 or visit their website: https://www.mapsedu.org/families-community/enrollment.cfm. If you live in the MAPS district area, go to the Resident Enrollment page for application information.
Important Enrollment Steps & Information for NEW Students:
1.
APPLY to the Merrill Area Public Schools district / Bridges Virtual Academy through DPI's ALTERNATIVE open-enrollment process.
*
You can find application information for the REGULAR and ALTERNATIVE enrollment periods here: https://dpi.wi.gov/open-enrollment
2.
SUBMIT the completed form to the Merrill Area Public Schools DISTRICT office. District contact information can be found here: https://www.mapsedu.org/families-community/enrollment.cfm
3.
ACCEPT/CONFIRM your student's open-enrollment seat with the Merrill Area Public Schools district office.
4.
AFTER acceptance and confirmation with Merrill Area Public Schools, CHECK for a "Welcome to BVA" EMAIL from BVA's Student Services Manager.
This email will contain important enrollment information and the steps necessary to begin the enrollment process for your student(s). This will also initiate the assignment of a BVA Advisory Teacher to your student(s) to begin working with you to develop your student's Individualized Learning Plan (ILP).
IMPORTANT NOTE: By Wisconsin State Statute, parents are only allowed to apply ONE time in a specific school district for enrollment through the open-enrollment process; therefore, if you apply during the regular open-enrollment period and are denied due to space, you are not allowed to use the alternative open-enrollment process to re-apply, even if there is space available during any given school year. If you have questions about this process, please contact the Department of Public Instruction.
If you have any questions regarding Wisconsin's open-enrollment process, please contact the DPI. If you have questions regarding a submitted open-enrollment application, please contact the MAPS' district administrative office at 715.536.4581.
